How we choose experts

For each topic, we feature six people with wide reach on that topic: popular posts, videos, articles or podcast episodes. At least three of the six are medical doctors.

The labels

  • Medical doctor: MD or DO.
  • Licensed practitioner: licensed health providers who aren't medical doctors, such as nurse practitioners, chiropractors, naturopathic doctors, dietitians and therapists.
  • Researcher: scientists with a PhD who study menopause, the brain, exercise or nutrition.
  • Coach: fitness, nutrition and health coaches.
  • Advocate: journalists, authors and community voices.

Each card also shows the person's credentials as they describe them.

How we write summaries

  • Summaries are in our own words and stay neutral. We don't say whether anyone is right.
  • Quotes are short and exact, and only used when we can confirm the wording.
  • Every summary includes the date and a link to the original source.
  • We review topics regularly and update them when popular new posts appear.

We aren't paid by the experts we feature, and featuring someone doesn't mean they endorse MenoFYI.
